At the moment, we’re doing our best to get back to normal life, said President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, Bako Sahakyan in an interview.

“There are the necessary conditions in educational and cultural institutions to get back to normal life. We are carrying out activities in the agricultural sphere, because it’s the time of spring sowing,” the President said.
Concerning the first day of the April war, the President noted that he commanded the Defense Army not to carry out resistance operations, but to suppress the offensive operations of the adversary destroying its manpower and resources. He added that his command was completely fulfilled by the Defense Army soldiers.
According to Sahakyan, on April 2 the Prime and Deputy Prime Ministers of NKR were out of the country, which created additional difficulties.

“Talish, Mataghis and Martakert were being shelled. We had to dislocate the civilians,” said the President adding that the dislocation was organized with the help of Martakert authorities and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Sahakyan also reminded that the verbal agreement on ceasefire between the Chiefs of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan was reached with the mediation of the Russian Federation.

Concerning the deeds of Armenian soldiers during the war, President Bako Sahakyan said, “Miserable are the nations and countries whose lives aren’t accompanied with myths. This is more than pride. Our boys have created new myths by their deeds. We shouldn’t be surprised that our generations are capable of such deeds because they learn from their fathers”.
