“I am not sure whether  such a deal will be made soon, but even if the deal is struck, I do not see any risks in it for our country,” PM Karen Karapetyan noted during the question and answer session between the parliament and the Cabinet, in response to MP Shirak Torosyan’s question, which stated that the Georgia’s Prime Minister has made a statement about putting on sale the 25 percent of the shares of the pipeline supplying the Russian gas to Armenia, and according the spread information Azerbaijan has expressed readiness to buy the entire share.

“We don’t see any risks regarding the violations of the contract points by the Georgian side if Azerbaijan acquires the 25 percent of the shares. If the percent of the shares increases such risks can also grow, however that will be a matter of the relations between the two countries,” the Premier noted.

The deputy had concerns that Georgia might sell the whole share. Karapetyan noted the following: “In case of such developments we know what argument to put forward when holding talks with our ally country. If we express concerns regarding the sale of 25 percent of the shares, we might seem to demonstrate at least an inappropriate behavor, as the pipeline is their property and they sell a quarter of the shares. In case of any other developments, we will come up with our argumentation.”
