Christmas tree installed in Kessab as the life slowly returns to the worn-torn Syrian town
The mostly Armenian-populated Syrian town of Kessab that saw massive devastations and all the horrors of the Syrian war while being attacked by al Qaeda-linked terrorists who stormed the area from Turkey, is slowly returning to its usual life. Hay Dzayn news portal reports that Christmas tree has been installed in the center of the town at the initiative of the Armenian Evangelical Church.
According to the source, the short festive event, attended by the representatives of the local Catholic, Evangelical and Apostolic Churches as well as officials, was addressed by the Pastor of the Kessab Armenian Evangelical Church, Rev. Jirayr Ghazarian.
Jirayr Ghazarian has emphasized in his message the need to restore opeace in Syria and wider in the Middle East to ensure the peaceful coexistence of the Christian community on the territories.
The source says that the Christmas tree which was 33 meters high has been an unprecedented event since the town was liberated from terrorist groups two years ago.
