Former president of Latvia sees great potential in deepening Armenia-Latvia relations
In the framework of the visit paid to Latvia, the RA Ambassador to Lithuania Tigran Mkrtchyan held a meeting with Ex-President of the country Andris Bērziņš.
As the Press and Information Department of the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed Panorama.am, Andris Bērziņš asked the Armenian Ambassador to convey his greetings to RA President Serzh Sargsyan.
The former Latvian president noted there is great potential in Latvia to deepen the cultural and economic relations with Armenia.
Bērziņš noted that he will continue his friendship with Armenia and the Armenian people.
Ambassador Mkrtchyan thanked Andris Bērziņš for the warm words and briefed on the coming events initiated by the Embassy.
During the same day, the Ambassador of Armenia held meetings with Director of Latvian Holocaust Museum Rabbi Menachem Barkahan and Chairman of the Council of Jewish Communities in Latvia Arkady Sukharenko. Ambassador Mkrtchyan thanked Menachem Barkahan for ensuring the continuation of the exhibition dedicated to the Armenian Genocide in the Holocaust Museum. The meetings addressed issues on the cooperation between the Armenian and Jewish communities.
