Importers can submit electronic transit declarations in advance due to new system
The State Revenue Committee of Armenia (SRC) has operated “Transit Declaration” electronic system. The new system introduced in the “RA National Single Window for Foreign Trade” portal replaces the former procedure of presenting a transit summary.
The Information and the Public Relations Department of the SRC told Panorama.am, that pursuant to March 2 2017 Decision No. 194 of the RA Government, from now on the importers can transfer their products and vehicles from one customs body to another by submitting a customs transit declaration.
The above mentioned also applies to presenting the attached documents as transit declarations in case they include the information prescribed by Part 3 of Article 182 of the Customs Code of the Customs Union. Due to the new system, the time of border crossing has significantly reduced as the transit declaration can be submitted online from any location in advance.
The system checks the completeness of the submitted information, after which a vehicle can leave the customs territory.
The source also notes that the new procedure has eliminated the demand of the provision of customs tariffs and taxes for the transportation of foreign goods from one customs body to another in the RA territory under the ‘Customs Transit” procedure.
