About 39,000 first-graders to go to school on September 1 in Armenia
1,400 schools will open doors in 2013-14 school year in Armenia, Narine Hovhannisyan, head of the General Education Department of Armenia’s Ministry of Science and Education, told reporters in Yerevan.
About 39,000 first-graders will go to school on September 1, she said, adding that this year the number of first-graders is higher than in the previous years. Meanwhile, the education official said that possibly there will be no first-graders in some provincial schools.
Ms Hovhannisyan also said that children who will turn 6 by January 1 will be admitted to school and the rest will wait until the next school year.
