Expert: Armenia must show that even Erdogan’s apology on bended knees is not sufficient
Turkey has intensified the policy of Armenian Genocide denial over the past years, Turkish studies expert Artak Shakaryan told reporters on Thursday.
In his words, Turkey’s policy is based on the spreading of doubts. Turkey has repeatedly offered to create a commission of historians to investigate whether genocide took place in 1915.
The expert called on to make qualitative change in the process of international recognition of the Armenian Genocide. He expressed the hope that the year 2015 will become a psychological barrier in the process of passing from recognition to the demand for reparation.
“We must show that even Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s apology on bended knees is not sufficient, and that we have clear demands,” Shakaryan stressed.
