Parliament speaker G. Sahakyan, new German ambassador discuss constitutional reforms
Speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly Galust Sahakyan received today the newly appointed German Ambassador to Armenia Bernhard Mathias Kisler.
G. Sahakyan congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him successful mission in Armenia, according to the Armenian parliament’s press service.
He said that relations of the friendship groups in the parliaments of the two countries have intensified in recent years, with mutual visits becoming more frequent. The parliament speaker highly appreciated Germany’s balanced approach to regional problems related to Armenia. Speaking about Armenian-German cooperation, Galust Sahakyan said that Armenian youths are enrolled in German education programs, mutual visits are paid, and this year, too, the National Assembly of Armenia is ready to receive two students from Germany.
The speaker expressed his support for programs to be implemented in Armenia by the German embassy.
B. Kisler said that friendly, close relations, especially in the field of parliamentary cooperation, have formed between Armenia and Germany over time.
The German ambassador said he has experience in economic cooperation and during his tenure he is prepared to fulfill potential between the two countries. As regards Armenia’s foreign policy, B. Kisler said Germany would be glad if Armenia could improve relations with all of its neighbors.
The interlocutors also discussed the ongoing constitutional reforms in Armenia.
