Number of tourists decrease in Turkey in 2016
The number of tourists in Turkey decreased by 12.8% in March 2016, reports Ermenihaber.am.
According to the source, compared with the results of the last year, during the first trimester of 2016 the number decreased by 10.3%.
According to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, in March 2016 1.65 million tourists visited Turkey, most of them coming from Iran (more than 250.000 tourists). Also, 19.000 Israeli tourists visited Turkey.
A decrease has been recorded in the number of Russian tourists. This became a tendency, after the Turkish Air Forces hit the Russian military SU-24 aircraft.
Particularly, in March the number of Russian tourists in Turkey decreased by 59%. Also, a decrease has been recorded in the number of European tourists (Spanish, Finnish and German) visiting Turkey.
