The conflict shall be resolved by peaceful means: Putin
Speaking at a press conference following bilateral meeting with the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, President Vladimir Putin of Russia advised not to concentrate on the military side of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
Responding to a question whether or not premises for a new escalation in the conflict are being created by the new volumes of arms shipments to Azerbaijan, while deliveries to Armenia are not fulfilled, President Putin said:
“We have to work with Armenia on that. Armenia is a CSTO member, Armenia is our ally, we have certain reciprocal obligations and Russia has always been faithful to its obligations and always delivers on those. In the modern arms markets any state can practically buy any weapon. Such a state as Azerbaijan, for example, an oil exporting state with 10mln population, dynamic economy and big gold and currency reserves, of course can buy arms everywhere. Everywhere. Do you understand it?”.
“I would not be paying attention to the military side of the conflict. If we want to find resolution, we should solve it by peaceful means”, - President Putin concluded.
