Koghb Tumo Center to accept 600-1000 students
Koghb border village in Tavush region of Armenia will have a Tumo Center for Creative Technologies in a year to facilitate the training of 600-1000 students from Koghb, Noyemberyan, Berdavan and other nearby settlements.
On June 5, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the center which is constructed by Koghb Fund in partnership with Mission Enfance, UCOM, Tumo, and other private donations.
Arman Barseghyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Koghb Fund, delivered remarks at the ceremony, calling the Koghb Tumo project a symbolic and unique one.
Barseghyan expressed hope that the center located at the cross border of Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia will open its doors to Georgian and, why not, Azerbaijani applicants in the future.
The center is set to implement educational programs using the information technologies, to organize and conduct classes and seminars to introduce the young people to the global technological achievements in the fully equipped classrooms and all available premises to serve 600-1000 students. Additionally, it will have a recording studio, cinema, open-air venue for sport and leisure activities.
The center is part of the “TUMO-Army” project, the joint initiative of the RA Ministry of Defense and “Simonyan” Educational Foundation, aimed at providing an opportunity for military servicemen from the nearby military units to participate in the education project.
The project will give an opportunity to the military servants of the Armenian Army to acquire knowledge and skills in the unique educational environment, which will raise their competitiveness during the service as well as after the demobilization.
