Russia’s president appoints the representative for talks about establishing joint forces with Armenia
Russian Deputy Defense Minister, General of the Army Nikolai Pankov was appointed as
the official representative of the Russian President at the discussions of the agreement of forming a combined Russian-Armenian forces, Ria Novosti reported.
To remind, the agreement on the establishment of the Russian-Armenian Combined Force was signed on November 30 last year. The agreement suggests that the two countries will create a combined force capable of ensuring "an adequate response to an armed attack (aggression)" and "other challenges and threats to the parties’ security."
The agreement is to be valid for five years and will be automatically extended, if none of the parties declares its intention to withdraw from it.
