Fabiano Caruana wins London Chess Classic
London Chess Classic, the concluding leg of the 2017 Grand Chess Tour, came to an end on Monday with Fabiano Caruana winning the tournament.
After nine rounds, two players – Fabiano Caruana Ian Nepomniachtchi – collected 6 points apiece and shared 1-2 spots, with the winner decided in blitz games, where Caruana defeated Nepomniachtchi 2.5-1.5, the Chess Federation of Armenia reported.
Magnus Carlsen, Wesley So and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave shared 3-5 positions with 5 points each.
Armenian GM Levon Aronian lost to Magnus Carlsen at the final round to hold the 7th spot with 4 points.
