Armenian-American bilateral defense consultations to be held in Yerevan
Armenian Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan received today the U.S. Ambassador in Armenia, Richard Mills, press department at the defense ministry said in a release.
During the meeting, the interlocutors reflected on the work done in the sphere of the Armenia-U.S. joint military cooperation in 2017 and outlined main directions for cooperation in 2018.
According to the source, Minister Sargsyan briefly presented the main directions of the draft 7-year program of modernization of Armed Forces, with the United States and Armenian thought to cooperate on.
Ambassador Mills, in turn, expressed U.S. willingness to continue cooperation with the defense ministry in spheres of mutual interest. The parties arranged to hold Armenia-American bilateral defense consultations in Yerevan in 2018 to outline the further cooperation prospects.
During the meeting, the interlocutors made references to issues of regional security issues, the ministry said.
