Certain provisions of the Armenia-EU agreement to come into force - deputy foreign minister

Armenian government endorsed today the RA draft law on behalf of the Republic of Armenia of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States, of the one part, and the European Union, of the other part.
As the deputy foreign minister stated, the new framework agreement elevates the Armenian-EU bilateral relations to a new level with a view of regulating them in the coming years.

"The agreement is more comprehensive and was adjusted to the deepness and the spirit of the bilateral relations," Kocharyan said, adding the provisions of the agreement do not contradict to Armenia's commitment in other integration frameworks.

"The Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed on November 24 in Brussels will come into force after all EU member states will notify about the completion of their internal ratification procedures.  At the same time, we received a message from the Union that certain provisions of the can come into effect before the full ratification," Kocharyan said, appointing to the need for Armenia's to complete its internal ratification procedures first.
