Armenian FM, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State talked over the phone
Armenian FM Zohrab Mnatsakanyan had a telephone conversation with the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Wess Mitchell.
As the press department at the ministry reports, during the conversation held at the initiative of the American side, Wess Mitchell congratulated Minister Mnatsakanyan on being appointed to the post of Armenia’s foreign minister, stressing the readiness of the United States to work with the new government of Armenia in various spheres of mutual interest.
Minister Mnatsakanyan in turn emphasized Armenia greatly values the multisector cooperation frameworks between the two countries and stays ready to further develop them.
The parties also discussed issues of bilateral agenda, reflected on the activities of the U.S.-Armenia Intergovernmental Commission and the Armenian-American Business Council.
According to the release, the sides next touched upon the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Minister Mnatsakanyan highlighted the valued commitment of OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chair countries, including the United States, to support the peaceful settlement of the conflict.
