Armenia's economic activity index grows by 9.7% in January-April 2018
According to the data released by Armenia's National Statistical Service (NSS), the economic activity index (EAI) of Armenia increased by 9.7 % in January-April 2018 to compare with the same period of 2017.
According to the NSS, the construction volumes saw the highest growth, constituting an increase by 21.8% for the indicated period and totaling to 64 milliard 759.6 million AMD.
Meanwhile. the production volume rose by 5.2%, to compare with January-April 2017 and decreased 15.6%against the production volume of the previous month.
The service volume (excluding the trade) rose by 17.6 %. The consumer prices, according to the NSS statistics, also increased by 3.1% compared to January-April 2017.
Compared to January of the previous year the gross agricultural output increased by 2.2% in January-April 2018. As for the external trade turnover, it rose by 31.2 % in January-April 2018 with the exports increasing by 25.5% and imports by 34.3%.
According to the NSS data, the average monthly salary in Armenia rose by 3.5%. In the public sector the average salary grew by 0.8%, in the private sector the average wage rose by 4.1%.
