PM Pashinyan hosts EU special envoy
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received today Toivo Klaar, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia, to discuss perspectives of the bilateral cooperation.
PM Pashinyan highlighted the continuous development of relations with the European Union and the constructive dialogue in all the spheres, the government’s press service told Panorama.am.
He stressed the importance of ratifying the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA) by all the EU member states within the shortest period possible, expressing confidence that it would give new impetus to the bilateral cooperation and contribute to the implementation of multi-sectoral reforms in the country.
Toivo Klaar stressed the need to revitalize the EU-Armenia relations, expressing hope the bilateral cooperation will keep expanding even during the temporary implementation of the agreement until the completion of its ratification process.
During the meeting the sides also discussed a number of issues related to the Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) conflict settlement.
PM Pashinyan reiterated Armenia’s commitment to the conflict’s peaceful settlement within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group format and attached importance to the Artsakh civil society’s involvement in confidence-building measures, which, according to him, will contribute to the formation of a constructive atmosphere in the peace talks.
Nikol Pashinyan and Toivo Klaar also exchanged views over a range of other issues of mutual interest.
