Artsakh police chief steps down
Chief of Police of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Republic Kamo Aghajanyan has today announced his decision to step down.
In his resignation submitted to President Bako Sahakyan, Aghajanyan cited the need “to avoid undermining the domestic security and further escalating the political tensions” as the reason behind his decision.
“Taking into account the public demand on my resignation, I have submitted a report to Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan to relieve me of my duties as Chief of Police,” he said.
Aghajanyan had been serving as Police Chief since 2013.
Earlier on Wednesday, State Minister Arayik Harutyunyan also submitted resignation.
