OSCE ready to assist Armenian government in anti-corruption reforms
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Thursday received Paola Severino, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on Combating Corruption, his office reported.
The PM attached importance to the furtherance of cooperation with the OSCE in different dimensions, including the anti-corruption fight. Pashinyan emphasized that the fight against corruption is one of his government’s top priorities, and they will continue to take consistent steps in that direction. At the same time, he noted that Armenia is keen to share experience with international partners in order to get support in this sphere.
Welcoming the government’s anti-corruption efforts, Paola Severino expressed conviction that they would be effective. She stressed that the OSCE is ready to closely cooperate with the Armenian authorities, including the Ministry of Justice, in a bid to assist the government with the implementation of anti-corruption reforms.
The interlocutors expressed confidence that the planned reforms would help curb the corruption risks, which will in turn help improve the business environment and attract foreign investments.
