New Wave 2018: Armenia’s Gevorg Harutyunyan finishes second
Armenia’s Gevorg Harutyunyan has taken the second spot at the annual New Wave 2018 international music contest in Sochi, Russia, sharing the place with Russian Darya Antonyuk with 297 points.
Russian performer Dan Rozin won the contest with 298 points, with Greek singer Demy finishing third with 295, RIA Novosti reports, citing the jury head, Igor Krutoy.
The Armenian delegate gained 100 points possible, 10 from each jury member, on the first and second days of the contest, performing LP’s Lost on You and Life and Fight (Kyank u Kriv), respectively.
He was awarded 97 points after performing Stand Up (written by himself) on the third day.
The international music contest brought together a total of 15 participants from Armenia, Russia, Italy, Malta, Greece, Azerbaijan, Canada, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Bulgaria.
New Wave 2018 took place from 4 to 9 September.
