Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev sees all the current and former Armenian leaders, including ex-Presidents Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Robert Kocharyan, Serzh Sargsyan and incumbent Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, as dictators, since he treats every Armenian in the world as his enemy, political analystTevan Poghosyan told a news conference on Thursday.

The analyst stressed the team created by the Azerbaijani president is focused on the Armenian media in an attempt to monitor it. “He pursues a goal of ripping apart the Armenian society, splitting people into teams and instilling hatred,” he said, commenting on Aliyev’s latest statement according to which ‘a new dictatorial regime has been established in Armenia.’

“We need to be smarter and not allow such statements to impact Armenia’s domestic political life. Meantime, Aliyev must realize he cannot succeed in splitting us through such statements,” the analyst stressed.

Poghosyan says Armenia should be ready for Azerbaijani border provocations ahead of the upcoming snap elections of the Yerevan City Council, adding, however, the Armenian army has respective scenarios at hand and is ready to retaliate them at any moment.

Commenting on the recent wiretapping of the telephone conversation between the chiefs of the National Security Service and Special Investigation Service, the analyst says he is more concerned about the case in security terms.

"We must realize that the war is not over, our enemies are not asleep. The most important thing for me is to figure out measures that would prevent wiretapping crime at all,” he stressed.
