Ukraine against Russian official running as Interpol head

Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov said that Kyiv didn’t approve Russia’s Alexander Prokopchuk running as the head of Interpol.

According to Avakov, the Russian official is a hybrid threat to the whole world.
Prokopchuk has been the Vice President of Interpol since 2016.

He will compete with Interpol’s acting president Kim Jong Yang of South Korea, according to The Financial Times. The elections are due on November 21.
