14 Armenian newborns given PM's name in April-December last year
14 newborns were named Nikol in April-December 2018 after Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Justice Ministry told PanARMENIAN.Net in an emailed statement.
In comparison, only three children were named Nikol throughout 2017.
Also, the news agency says that an Armenian citizen named his son Nicolas in honor of French President Nicolas Sarkozy after the country passed a bill criminalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide.
In a village of Armenia’s Lori region, parents named their baby boy Zorov (heavily) after having 11 girls.
The most popular baby name for boys was Davit, while Nare topped the most popular girl names list in 2017. The data on most popular baby names in 2018 is not available yet.
