March commemorating the March 1 victims kicked off from Liberty Square
A march headed by Pm Pashinyan, his wife and daughters commemorating the victims of the March 1-2, 2008 post-election events in Yerevan started from Liberty Square in capital Yerevan. The participants will march to Myasnikyan statue where the tragic events were unfolded.
The PM earlier announced the commemoration will demonstrate the unity, the commitment to justice, legality, democracy, and human rights,
“I invite all of you for a march from Yerevan’s Liberty Square to Myasnikyan’s statue. We will thereby pay tribute to the victims of March 1 and all political killings. We will thereby say a decisive NO to violence, injustice, lawlessness, corruption, electoral fraud and violation of rights,” said Pashinyan earlier todays in a televised address to the nation.
