Artsakh’s ex-state minister to run for president in 2020
Former State Minister of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan, the head of the Free Homeland Party, will run for president in the 2020 elections.
At a meeting with the party’s activists and supporters in Ishkhanadzor community of the country’s Kashatagh region, Harutyunyan presented the new agenda of his party, the upcoming programs and activities, as well as expressed a clear position on the participation of the party in the forthcoming national elections and his vision on the domestic political situation, Artsakhpress reports.
At the meeting, Artush Mkhitaryan, the responsible for the Free Homeland party in Kasahtagh region, said in his speech that during the party conference held in Berdzor regional office, among other issues, the issues of nominating a new chairman of the party at the party upcoming congress, as well as nominating a candidate for the upcoming presidential elections in Artsakh in 2020 were discussed. The members of the conference unanimously proposed the candidacy of Arayik Harutyunyan.
Harutyunyan in his turn expressed gratitude for trusting him and gave his consent to participate in the 2020 presidential elections. He said that he hadn’t chosen the day of the meeting by chance, adding on May 18, 1992 his cherished dream – the reunification of Artsakh with Mother Armenia – came true.
