Pashinyan: Investigative Commission studying the April war aims to guarantee similar developments will never occur in the future
The Investigative Commission established at Armenia’s National Assembly to investigate the circumstances of the April military operations in 2016 has only one purpose which is to study whether the country’s Armed Forces were properly prepared for those developments, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan sated on Wednesday at a briefing with reporters. In the PM’s words, the commissions is not set up to punish certain people, however, in the course of the commission works those whose actions may constitute punishable deeds will be held accountable
As Pashinyan said, through creating a commissions and launching the investigation the main task is guarantee no similar situation will ever occur.
“The aim of the investigative commission is to secure civic control over the Armed Forces with yet another tool, to understand what happened during the April events, and create necessary guarantees it will never occur in the future,” PM said.
