Putin, Pashinyan met in St. Petersburg
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan who is paying visit to Russia to participate in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum met on Thursday with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin press service reported.
According to the source, the Armenian premier and the Russian president discussed current issues of Armenian-Russian strategic partnership, the regional cooperation and exchanged views on cooperation within integration structures.
Greeting the Armenian PM, Putin said: “I am very pleased to welcome you once again this time in St. Petersburg. I have no doubt it will be interesting and useful to attend the St. Petersburg Economic Forum which is a good platform to meet partners and discuss issues of economic agenda.”
The Russian President added Russian-Armenian bilateral issues are discussed on regular basis. “Russia remains the leading partner of Armenia in trade and number of other spheres which speaks of the good relations between the two countries,” said the president.
Pashinyan, in turn, noted the relations with Russia are developing steadily, recalling the meetings over the past year with the most recent in Nur Sultan. “We are actively cooperating not only in the bilateral format but also within the frames of EAEU, CIS and CSTO,” said Pashinyan.
