The ruling force holds a closed-door meeting
The ruling “My Step” faction is holding a closed-door meeting on Monday with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in attendance, the head of the faction Lilit Makunts told reporters, adding the meeting has no specific agenda and comes as a regular sitting.
“I am sure members of the parliamentary faction would like to speak on number of topics,” Makunts said.
Asked whether the recent statements by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the attacks against “Hayeli” news outlet are on the agenda, Makunts noted: “Individual MPs from our faction have already reacted to the remarks by Azerbaijani president, pointing to the fact that those statements may not lead to a constructive course.”
As to the recent attacks against the media, Makunts called any violence and restriction against the freedom of press as unacceptable, adding the law enforcement had initiated a criminal investigation into the incident.
