Armenia’s ex-President Serzh Sargsyan attends RPA workshop on populism
A workshop entitled “Populism and Traditional Politics: Challenges and Solutions” was held in Armenia’s resort town of Tsaghkadzor from November 8 to November 10, organized by the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and implemented with support of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
The workshop brought together representatives of various RPA structures. RPA Chairman, third President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan took part in the event and delivered opening remarks, the RPA office said in a statement.
Participants discussed the “new challenges of organizing party work, the particularities of the activity of ideological political units in the context of demagogic political agenda, the role of women and youth in party politics” and other topics.
The meeting also addressed the interrelated topics of the domestic and foreign policy agendas, the current state of human rights, the economic dynamics and press freedom.
“The participants of the workshop were also briefed on the results of a number of social surveys, leading experts from different sectors and representatives of social institutions delivered reports.
“The key working priorities were highlighted and sectoral instructions were issued,” the statement read.
