Zareh Sinanyan attends Armenian-American Museum Gala in Los Angeles
Armenia’s High Commissioner of Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan is on a working visit to the United States of America, and recently attended the annual Armenian-American Museum Gala in Los Angeles, his office reported.
As one of the keynote speakers, he remarked that “it seems like yesterday when I first met with the newly established commission of the museum to discuss its vision, advice and necessity.” The commissioner reiterated that in parallel to reforms taking place in Armenia, the process of assimilation and disintegration is continuing in different Diaspora communities. In the coming years, both Armenia and the Diaspora will need to implement a joint action plan to slow down and halt the process of assimilation.
"However, everything is not gray and negative. At times, this troubling image is interrupted by exceptional expressions of hope and preservation of the Armenian identity. One of them is the establishment of the Armenian-American Museum and Cultural Center in Glendale this year. Any move aimed at strengthening the Diaspora also reinforces Armenia,” he encouraged, adding that the museum would once again leave a lasting impression on Armenians and American culture.
