Court delays consideration of motions to drop charges against Kocharyan, three other former top officials
The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, presided over by judge Anna Danibekyan, announced on Tuesday a decision on the motions to drop the criminal charges against former Armenian President Robert Kocharyan and three other former senior officials.
"The court has decided to postpone the consideration of the defense motions until the essential circumstances for their consideration are uncovered and the all essential evidence in the case are examined," Danibekyan said.
The court hearing continued.
The attorneys of Robert Kocharyan, Armen Gevorgyan, Seyran Ohanyan and Yuri Khachaturov had asked the court to drop the criminal charges against their clients and dismiss the case, citing the famous ‘March 1 Seven’ case, when the charges against all the seven defendants were dropped under Article 300.1.
