Around 54.9 billion drams distributed as part of the government’s anti-crisis program
Chaired by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, another discussion was held in the Office of Government to sum up the efforts aimed at handling the adverse consequences of COVID-19.
As the government press service reported, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan advised that over AMD 62 billion had been provided in emergency assistance by the Government. Some 24,000 business entities and 30,000 individuals have already received assistance. Over 1 million citizens benefited from the utility bill compensation program.
The meeting discussed new anti-crisis initiatives aimed at expanding the range of beneficiaries of targeted welfare assistance through upgraded economic assistance tools. The need to support the local farmers was emphasized during the exchange of views that followed.
Summing up the meeting, Prime Minister Pashinyan underscored that the government’s anti-crisis policy should seek to encourage labor. The Premier reiterated the need for providing continued assistance to the population and told those responsible to comply with this logic and come up with new proposals.
