The Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan sent letters to the Speakers of the Chambers of the CSTO Member Countries’ Parliaments, presenting the provocative actions undertaken in the direction of the northeastern border of the Republic of Armenia by the Azerbaijani armed forces and calling on them to condemn them.

“Such actions are considered to be an admissible violation of the fundamental principles of the international law and damage the stability of the whole region,” the letters read in particular, the parliament press service reported.

To remind, on 12 July, at around 12:30pm local time, for unknown reasons, the Azerbaijani troops moving in an UAZ vehicle tried to cross the Armenian state border from Tavush Province. After warning shots from the Armenian side, the Azerbaijani soldiers left their vehicle behind and retreated to their positions.

At around 1:45pm Azerbaijani forces once again tried to capture the Armenian border position, opening artillery fire at it, but they were forced to retreat suffering losses, the Defense Ministry said, adding there were no casualties among Armenian servicemen.
The Azerbaijani military resumed the shelling of the Armenian military outposts in Tavush Province on Monday morning.
Two Armenian police officers on combat duty have been slightly injured in Azerbaijani shooting, the ministry said. Some reports suggest 17 Azerbaijani soldiers have been killed as a result of the Azerbaijani attack. On Sunday the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry confirmed the death of three of its soldiers.
