Parliament speaker nominated a candidate for CC Judge
Speaker of the Armenian parliament Ararat Mirzoyan has nominated Edgar Shatiryan’s candidacy for the the post of the judge of the Constitutional Court, the press service at the parliament reported.
“Being led by Article 166.1 and Article 213.3 of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia the Government of the Republic of Armenia nominated for the post of the judge of the Constitutional Court Edgar Shatiryan’s candidacy,” the statement by the NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan reads.
To remind, the recent legislative changes which many experts denounced as unconstitutional paved a way for replacement of the Constitutional Court head and three judges of the top court. According to the law, candidates for three Constitutional Court judges are nominated by the President of the Republic, the Government, the General Assembly of Judges, the election is made by the National Assembly.
