Azerbaijan releases two Artsakh citizens due to Russian peacekeepers’ efforts

Russian peacekeepers have helped find two residents of the village of Khramort in Artsakh’s Askeran region and return them home.

The citizens, identified as Ademnik Hambardzumyan and Ramid Khachaturyan, were reported missing on November 30 to the hotline launched by the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Artsakh, Peacekeeper Telegram channel said.

At the request of the Russian side, Azerbaijan said that its forces had detained the Artsakh Armenians in the territory controlled by Azerbaijan and had transferred them to Baku.

The commander of the Russian contingent, Rustam Muradov, held talks with the Azerbaijani side, managing to achieve the release of the Artsakh citizens. They were flown to Yerevan by a Russian Air Force plane.
