A group of freedom fighters on Saturday gathered at the Yerablur Military Pantheon in Yerevan to prevent Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan from entering the military cemetery.

Armenia has declared three days of national mourning starting from December 19 in memory of those killed in the war in Artsakh. A mourning procession led by the premier is set to begin in Yerevan at 1pm and to travel from the Republic Square to the Yerablur Military Pantheon

Legendary commander Ashot Minasyan, better known as Ashot Yerkat (iron), a participant in the three Artsakh wars, is also at the military pantheon. Speaking to reporters, he noted that he came here today not only to pay tribute to the fallen soldiers, but also to block Armenia’s “number one traitor” from entering the pantheon of fallen heroes.

“It is no coincidence that so many of my comrades in arms have gathered here to prevent the number one traitor from entering this holy place.

“Why is he coming here after killing our children and fellow soldiers? Does he still have something to say? Is he coming here for a hypocritical bow down? This performance has to stop,” the commander said.

According to Minasyan, Pashinyan is clinging to power, without realizing that he is leading the country to destruction.

“He handed over the keys to the gates of our fortress town [Shushi] to the enemy. Why does he keep persisting? What else is left to surrender? Should we become a Turkish vilayet?

“Apparently, a lot of people are in confusion, they have no idea what has happened. The people have found themselves in such a state that they do not imagine how difficult our situation is. This entire group of lost people has no idea what's going on in the country. We are in such a situation where the country has lost its face,” he stated, holding the premier largely responsible for it.

“A person undereating what responsibility means and taking responsibility should have resigned long ago. Unfortunately, this person does not realize what kind of catastrophe he has led the people to. He can’t tell the difference between lands and homeland. Artsakh is just a piece of land for him. It’s not a piece of land, but the holiest of holy places, our homeland. What is he talking about? He can only put the blame on everyone but himself,” the commander said.
