Armenia's armed forces demand resignation of PM Pashinyan and his government

Armenia’s armed forces called for the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his government in a statement on Thursday. The statement came after the PM's decision to sack Tiran Khacharyan, the First Deputy Chief of the General Staff. The statement named Pashinyan's decision goes 'against the state and national interests of Armenia' and 'is based on ambitious and unilateral feelings,'.

"In the current difficult situation the country is today this decision is anti-state and irresponsible move," the statement said, signed by the Chief of General Staff, his deputies, dozens of top militaries, including commanders of Corps.

The statement also said that incompetent rule of the current leaders and serous mistakes in the foreign policy has brought the country to the brink of a collapse.

The army leadership also warned against using force against the people whose suns have fallen while defending the Homeland and Artsakh. "The army has always been with the people, as the people have always been next to the the army," said the source.
