Armenia's Investigative committee has completed the preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated against the opposition candidate for the post of interim prime minister Vazgen Manukyan. As the Committee said in a released statement, the case was instituted on apparent public calls for seizing state power, changing the constitutional order by force, using violence made by Vazgen Manukyan during the rallies held at Liberty square on February 12 and 20. A signature not to leave was used as a pretrial measure against him.

According to the source, on March 9, a decision was made to bring new charges against Manukyan according to the Article 301 of RA Criminal Code on apparent public calls for seizing state power, changing the constitutional order by force, using violence, which includes  also Manukyan's statements made on February 26 on Baghramyan Avenue. 

It is noted that the investigative body has notified Vazgen Manukyan and his defense team about the completion of the preliminary investigation and provided the case materials to get familiarized. 

Note. Everyone charged with alleged crime offense shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
