Following the September 13-14 military aggression against Armenia, Azerbaijani forces seized seven vehicles and a large flock of sheep from Armenians, former Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan, who currently runs the Tatoyan Foundation for Law and Justice, told a news conference on Thursday.

Summing up his team’s fact-finding mission in Syunik and Vayots Dzor Provinces, he said Azerbaijanis took four Niva cars, 3 trucks and up to 6,000 heads of sheep from Armenian citizens near Jermuk alone. 1,300 of the stolen sheep belonged to one citizen.

"That is, the Azerbaijani troops creates problems not only by their presence, but also by their deliberate actions," he said, claiming Azerbaijan has no plans to make peace with Armenia.

Armenian border residents cannot make a living and meet their families’ needs because of the Azerbaijani troops, Tatoyan stressed, urging use of international legal grounds for their removal from Armenian territories.

"Most importantly, we should collect facts and be able to use them, we should put facts at the core of our demands, use international mechanisms. Otherwise, we simply become hostages of geopolitical interests. International mechanisms are envisaged especially for small states, and the facts and grounds we have allow us to use these mechanisms," Tatoyan said, emphasizing that the Armenian side should have presented Azerbaijani violations from the very beginning.
