No response from Baku to Yerevan's new peace proposals, says deputy PM
Azerbaijan has not yet responded to Armenia’s new proposals regarding a bilateral peace treaty, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan said on Monday.
“As far as I know, no response to the latest proposals has been received yet,” Grigoryan told reporters.
Earlier in August, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Armenia had submitted new peace proposals to Azerbaijan, but did not disclose them.
Separately, Grigoryan said that there was no agreement on a new trilateral meeting between the deputy prime ministers of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan who chair a joint working group to unblock the regional transport and economic links.
“Currently, some issues are being discussed, but there is no agreement on a new meeting at the moment,” he said.
“The general background for unblocking should be favorable. What unblocking can we talk about if there is no stability and peace? After all, unblocking is also part of a peace process,” Grigoryan added.
