Ex-security chef warns of attempts to cause turmoil in Artsakh
Artsakh’s former security chief Arshavir Gharamyan ha warned of attempts to foment internal turmoil and “finally destroy” blockade-hit Artsakh, urging people to remain vigilant.
In a social media post on Saturday, Gharamyan, a former National Security Service director, claimed a group of people, who “have split society for many years, are again trying to stir up internal upheaval through false narratives at this crucial moment for Artsakh which is facing a threat of impending war.”
“Dear Artsakh people, I urge you to remain vigilant, not to give in to these people’s empty promises and provocations to avoid further complicating the current difficult situation,” he said.
His comments come amid Azerbaijan’s massive military buildup along the border with Armenia and the Artsakh contact line, as well as tensions in Artsakh ahead of the election of its new president on Saturday.
