War isn't over in Artsakh, MP says
Armenian opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan claims Azerbaijan’s war in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) has not ended.
“If someone thinks that the war in Artsakh is over, they are deeply mistaken. At the moment, there is only a ceasefire,” he wrote on Facebook on Saturday. “What is in store for Artsakh and its people is still very uncertain.”
Artsakh agreed to disband its armed forces and discuss its “reintegration” into Azerbaijan as part of a Russia-brokered ceasefire announced on Wednesday, 24 hours after Baku launched a massive military offensive against the Artsakh people.
“Negotiations with Azerbaijan are underway, but it is hard to call them negotiations. By and large, the terrorist country is constantly making threats and dictating their terms to us, which can hardly be called talks,” said Abrahamyan, secretary of the opposition Pativ Unem faction.
“Stepanakert and the [Artsakh] districts are under blockade, people are basically being held hostages, and it is difficult to have any expectations without strong international pressure,” he added.
