Aram Khachaturian memorial plaque unveiled in Tbilisi

A memorial plaque has been put up on a house in Tbilisi where great Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian lived, the Armenian Embassy in Georgia reported on Monday.

The plaque reads: "The great composer Aram Khachaturian resided in this house from 1906 to 1922.”

In his remarks at the inauguration ceremony, Armenian Ambassador to Georgia Ashot Smbatyan highlighted the impact of the years spent in Tbilisi on the composer and thanked the Tbilisi Sakrebulo for supporting the initiative of the Armenian Embassy and the Aram Khachaturian House-Museum in Yerevan.

The event featured a performance by Alex Hakobyan, a student of Tbilisi's Aram Khachaturian Music School.
