Opposition MP reacts to statements on Syunik road
Opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan has reacted to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s latest statements on the road to Nakhichevan through Armenia’s Syunik Province.
He highlighted that the Azerbaijani and Turkish leaders are avoiding the term “corridor”, using its definition instead.
“The Zangezur corridor” issue seems to have dropped off the agenda, however the Azeris are talking about their perception of the route instead of using tough rhetoric which amounts to the corridor definition,” Abrahamyan, secretary of the opposition Pativ Unem faction, posted on Facebook on Monday.
“It can’t be ruled out that this step has been agreed with the Armenian authorities to avoid tensions in Armenia and smoothly open a corridor given the repeated lies of the incumbent leaders,” the MP stated.
Also, he charged that Azerbaijan could be planning to resolve the issue by force in case of a fertile ground.
