Artak Beglaryan: At least 23 Armenian prisoners still held by Azerbaijan
Artak Beglaryan, Artsakh’s former ombudsman and state minister, claims at least 23 Armenian prisoners remain in Azerbaijani captivity.
Azerbaijan on Wednesday released 32 Armenian soldiers mostly captured in late 2020 in exchange for Armenia's release of two Azerbaijani servicemen in line with an agreement announced last week.
“In any case, it is good that 32 Armenians returned home from Baku's captivity,” Beglaryan said in a social media post.
“However, at least 23 confirmed prisoners are still there. 14 of them are civilians captured both in 2020 and 2023. I guess 20 is from Artsakh. All of them must be released under international pressure,” he added.
