Opposition MP condemns 'overdose of politically motivated cases' in Armenia
Three court hearings on politically motivated cases were held in a single day, opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan said on Friday.
In a social media post, the deputy revealed that the “fabricated’ cases involved opposition activists Narek Samsonyan, Narek Malyan and Garik Galeyan, whose son, Mkhitar, was killed during the 44-day Artsakh war in 2020.
“Garik is under house arrest and in addition to other numerous restrictions, he has no opportunity to visit the Yerablur Military Pantheon in Yerevan, a holy place for him,” wrote Abrahamyan, secretary of the opposition Pativ Unem faction.
“The authorities are making great efforts to cause Garik and his family discomfort and trouble as much as possible.
“This is Armenia's daily political life featuring an "overdose" of politically motivated cases, slaves of the authorities and people who refuse to put up with it," the MP stated.
