
IMF chief economist concerned over surge in EU shipments to Armenia
Robin Brooks, a senior economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has expressed concern about the recent surge in goods shipments from the EU to Armenia, alleging the goods are re-exported to Russia.
"In the long and glorious history of the Armenian customs police, never before has such a massive surge in goods shipments from the EU been successfully processed," he posted on X on January 31. "Not to mention then repackaging all this stuff and bundling it off to Moscow, which is where it's really going..."
