Drivers warned of road closures in Armenia
The Rescue Service has warned drivers about closed and heavily traveled roads in Armenia on Friday afternoon.
In particular, the roads linking the Amberd high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari in Aragatsotn Province are shut down.
The Vardenyats Pass is open for trucks with trailers if snow chains are used.
The Stepanavan serpentines are difficult for trucks to pass.
According to the Department of Emergency Situations of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center (CMC) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Larsi highway connecting Armenia and Russia via Georgia is open to all vehicles.
Drivers are urged to use exclusively winter tires.
