Armenian authorities undecided on new bypass route to Georgia
The Armenian government has not yet decided where the new road section to Georgia, an alternative to the road near the border village of Voskepar, will be running through.
On March 12, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the authorities plan to build new road sections to replace those that go beyond the borders of Soviet Armenia. In particular, he was referring to the section of the Yerevan-Tbilisi road near Voskepar in Tavush Province.
"We would like to inform you that discussions on the issues raised by you are ongoing," the Armenian Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure told Sputnik Armenia on Thursday.
The ministry promised to provide updates on the outcome of the discussions later.
